Dunedin Netball Development Opportunities for Players

Under 18 and Under 16 Development Days

Dunedin Netball is running development day for our Under 18 and Under 16 players; age is at January 1 2025.
These will be held on the 28th & 29th of April.

Get Ready for the Season

These programmes are available for players in Years 1 - 4, 5 & 6, and 7 & 8 and will run on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons during April and May prior to the beginning of the season.

Year 7 & 8 Development Teams

At the Year 7 & 8 age-group Dunedin Netball believe it is valuable to give more opportunities for players to experience tournaments as well as still encourage the competitive traits of players. The rationale in this, alongside NNZ’s review, is to keep more players in our great sport for longer.

Those who participate in the Year 7 & 8 Development Programmes are eligible for being in these teams.

No trials will be held, rather players will be randomly assigned to teams.  

These teams will take part a development tournament in Dunedin - 10 August

Year 9 & 10 Development Teams 
At the Year 9 & 10 age-group Dunedin Netball believe it is valuable to give more opportunities for players to experience tournaments as well as still encourage the competitive traits of players. The rationale in this, alongside NNZ’s review, is to keep more players in our great sport for longer.

Those who participate in the Year 9 & 10 Development Programmes are eligible for being in these teams. The Year 9 & 10 Development Programme and Trials will be held on Sunday 15 June, players will be streamed into teams. 

These teams will take part in two tournaments; Dunedin - 27 July; and Invercargill - 17 August

Open Team:
Open to players over the age of 19 (as at January 1 2025).

10 - 13 September - Netball New Zealand Open Championships, Christchurch
