Dunedin Netball has a wonderful family of supporters – one of these is Pita Pit, who also own the KiwiYo Franchise.
When Dunedin and Invercargill Franchise owner, Denise, was asked why they decided to come on board with Dunedin Netball in 2017 she answered “We are netball lovers ourselves. It is great to support the umpires who give up their time freely every week”.
Operations Manager Joyce noted the partnership is an extremely good fit, “Denise and her team are passionate about netball, and their food is delicious and fresh, and loved by many ages!”
Pita Pit and Kiwiyo not only encourage fair and good play in Dunedin Netball’s Y5/6 and Y7/8 Competitions through player of the day certificates with vouchers, but also invest in umpire development courses, which are core to help any sport provide good experiences… Have a double glance at our Saturday umpire shirts – if you haven’t noticed already!
Denise also cited relationships with Netball New Zealand and the Silver Ferns with the Franchise are also established at this high level, so it made sense and lined up really well at the local level.
Denise and her Pita Pit crew have an admirable aim of trying to “give the kids of today better choices so they can be healthier adults tomorrow”.
Pita Pit is known for their healthy pitas, salads, gluten free options, free range chicken, ham, bacon and eggs, fresh fruit smoothies and frozen yoghurt and delicious waffles for afters!
